Quickstart Prerequisites for a Kubernetes Cluster

The following software, resources, and access are required for deploying a K8s cluster:

  • GNU bash v3.2.57

  • Docker Engine v28.3.0

  • MySQL v8.4.2 or higher.

  • Awk 20200816 or higher.

  • yq v4.45 or higher.

  • Helm v3.15.0 or later.

  • Minikube or Rancher:

    • If using Minikube, ensure that:

      • v1.34.0 or higher.
      • Minikube is up and running.
      • Minikube user profile must exist.

    • If using Rancher Desktop, ensure the Enable Rosetta support is enabled. If it is disabled, navigate to Rancher Desktop > Preferences > Virtual Machine > Emulation > VZ, and check the Enable Rosetta support checkbox.

    Whether you are using Minikube or Rancher Desktop, the steps for installing the Quickstart remain the same. The only difference is choosing rancher or minikube (default) when running quickstart.
